Joshua Olsen is a New York-based artist. With a passion for storytelling and innovation, his work spans both digital and analog mediums, blending traditional techniques with contemporary approaches. He holds an M.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art, a B.F.A. from SUNY Old Westbury, and an A.A.S. from SUNY Suffolk County Community College.

A decorated artist, Joshua has received numerous accolades, including First Place in the GoComics  National Animation Contest, Honorable Mentions at the SUNY-Wide Film Festival in 2019 and 2020, and won in the illustration category at the Long Island Media Awards in 2016 and 2017. His work has been showcased in the Museum of Contemporary Art, and he was the selected artist for the B&O Railroad Museum’s Street Artist Installation. Olsen is a grant recipient from BOPA, MICA, and NYFA, for supporting his diverse creative endeavors. He is a Veteran from the U.S. armed forces and is committed to bring art to the veteran community. 

Currently, Joshua serves as a visual arts educator in higher education, sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of artists. Outside of teaching, he continues to explore and create in painting, animation, and documentary work, contributing to the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art.
