Synopsis

After being gunned down by 100 men, lovers Sparo and Faye battle their way through, demons, monsters, guard dogs and out of the mouth of hell where their story begins. The undead, bullet-riddled duo make their way through the town sending the seven foes that lead to their deaths down to the underworld to take their place. They cross knives with a wheel bound, trinket-loving sweatshop owner; a sickly sadist; a gold toothed casino mogul; a cannibalistic butcher; a sad-eyed madam; a masked heartthrob and a blood-thirsty maniac. All the while, Sparo and Faye are being hunted by hell’s most unwavering ghost rider, sent to bring them back down below. The Awful Way of Sparo and Faye is an eternal romance with a healthy splattering of blood and vengeance.

Hedley Harlan

Hedley began her education in opera and dance and she quickly began appearing in music videos, appearing in videos for Natasha Beddingfield, Jay-Z, Seether, Grace Potter, Movielife, The New Tarot and The One Eighties. While shooting in Los Angeles, Hedley started working for Film Fanatics under the helm of director and producer Franz Harland and in partnership with Columbia University. She spent the next five years with the Film Fanatics team, covering film festivals in Havana, Prague, Rome and Cannes and learning about the film industry.

Hedley’s first screenplay, Smash the Kitty starring her and Jason Ritter, was lauded as, “A morally corrupt story about the decline of journalism or, perhaps the entire western civilization, mixing dark humor with an absurdly happy soundtrack.” Hedley’s second film, Late Lunch, a horror comedy, tells of a man who finds a sinister way to stop his wife from giving their money to charity and carved a bloody trail through the horror circuit that year. Hedley also conceptualized and produced music videos, reality pilots and commercials. Hedley’s feature work has won awards at Slamdance, Vancouver, NY Horror, LA International, Oxford, Depth of Field, London, Tahoe and Geneva International in partnership with CERN. Hedley’s writing tends to depict violence and mania with a gleeful wholesomeness and a keen insight to society’s hypocrisies.

As an actor, Hedley has recurred in MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch, Blacklist Redemption, The Walking Dead: Dead City and, out in 2025, The LONG BRIGHT RIVER opposite Amanda Seyfried.
