Synopsis

A young undertaker in the Bronx, Gio Becchino, follows in his father’s footsteps by cremating bodies in secret for the Roccio Crime Family. When Gio tries to show initiative and move up in the underworld, he is given tests to murder a living person before their cremation. Even after pressure from his father, Gio can’t do it and ends up killing a made man in the process of covering up his failure. This disobedience sets off a chain of events that rocks the foundation of their family. The boss of the family puts Gio on the very team that is to hunt for the made man’s killer. So Gio must decide where his loyalties lie, with his father and the Roccio Family, or with his conscience and the daughter of the crook he spared. Gio must outwit the mob and a hitman with a deadly garrote wire and a penchant for taxidermy in order to find a way to escape the life and not end up cremated in his own funeral home.
